What is eduroam?

Eduroam is a secure global wifi roaming service for the educational and research community, providing students, researchers, and staff of participating institutions with easy access to the Internet both on and off campus.

Where can eduroam be used?

Eduroam wifi roaming works in all faculties of VMU, as well as in other universities.

Is the use of eduroam safe?

Eduroam uses the highest current standards of encryption and authentication to provide maximum security and surpass normal commercial hotspots.

How does eduroam work?

Eduroam enables users of the participating institutions to access the network and potentially additional resources when visiting other institutions connected to eduroam. The user credentials are stored securely and are not shared with the website they are visiting, but are transferred to the user's home authority for verification. The system uses a network of authorities and NREN-managed servers to securely route requests, all of which are smooth and instantaneous.
